Pupils at St Mary’s CE Primary School in Pulborough were keen to demonstrate their creativity in a bid to win prizes sponsored by Henry Adams estate agents in Storrington.

Using any materials of their choice, the children were asked to design and make a remarkable bookmark. The younger children were asked to draw their favourite book character, while those in key stage two had the choice of recommending their favourite book or author, or explaining the joys of avid reading to encourage their peers to pick up a book and ‘read, read, read’.

“The results were very creative and we had a great time looking through all the bookmarks and choosing the winners.

“We’d like to say a huge thank you from Henry Adams to all the talented children in St Mary’s School for taking part with such enthusiasm.”

A key element of the challenge was to ‘try to be a bit different’, part of the brief to make the designs colourful and eye catching with a little bit of imagination.
