Farm honesty boxstolen by thieves

A NORTHIAM Farm has pledged to continue with its honesty box policy after having the box smashed and stolen.

Thieves smashed their way into the honesty box, at the gate of Otford Farm, Mill Corner, on Friday evening.

They took an estimated £30 as well as a quantity of cherries which were for sale.

Nicky Woodgate, from the farm, said: “We have been selling produce using an honesty box for a year and a half now and we are determined to continue.

“Local people have been very supportive and we would just ask them to bear with us while we get back on our feet.

“There are a few bad people out there but we won’t allow them to spoil it for everyone else.

“We are trying to build up the farm with a view of using it as a respite centre for sick and needy children at some time in the future.”
