Fatal accident - Rye man named

The man who died in a fatal collision in Harbour Road, Rye, on Wednesday 19 February, has now been named as 20-year-old Liam Moore from Kings Avenue, Rye. He had been riding a blue Suzuki SV1000 motorcycle and was the only casualty.

Also involved were a white Vauxhall Combi van, driven by an 83-year-old man from Littlehampton, and a silver Vauxhall Zafira car, driven by a 28-year-old woman from Rye, accompanied by a 26-year-old woman, also from Rye, and a 19-year-old woman, from Rye Harbour, who were passengers in the vehicle.

The van driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been bailed until Thursday, 1 May while enquiries continue.

Sergeant Dave Morgan of the Sussex Road Policing Unit at Polegate said; “We are still keen to hear from any witnesses, who can contact us either by phoning Sussex Police on 101 or emailing [email protected], quoting Operation Galloway.”
