FATAL CRASH ON COAST ROAD

At approximately 6.40am, a red Vauxhall Corsa was in a collision with a Yamaha motorbike on the junction of Cranleigh Avenue and the A259, Rottingdean.

The motorcyclist, a local man was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital where he died of his injuries soon after arrival.

All the emergency services were in attendance and the road was closed for about four and a half hours.

Long delays built up on the A259 and surrounding minor roads.
