Kat Shephard, 33, will lose her locks during a racy charity ladies night at Shoreham Community Centre, Pond Road, on Friday, June 6.

“I am quite a bubbly person and I will do anything if it means helping someone out,” she said. “My husband thought I was nuts.”

Kat, who lives in Middlesborough but is originally from Crawley, lived in Worthing for five years where she became friends with event co-organiser Nicola Smith, 37, of Shoreham.

Nicola Smith and Amanda Jones, 42, of Gravelly Crescent, Lancing, held two similar events last year raising over £1,000.

Amanda’s stepfather passed away at St Barnabas in December, 2012, after battling cancer and the pair say the hospice provides outstanding care.

Nicola said: “It’s all round care as they also support the families, which continues after they have sadly lost their loved ones for however long they need it.”
