Felpham students enjoy life in the fast lane

STUDENTS from Felpham Community College have sped into the fast lane as they secured their place in the final of a national competition.

Andy O’Neil, Matt Eccles both 16, and 15-year-old Harry Howard (all pictured), have won a place in the coveted British Schools Karting Championship.

The school’s assistant headteacher, Ben Phillips, said: “We are delighted with such a fantastic result for the boys and the school.

“This is the second year we have reached the national final and it was a great experience for them. They are a great team who work well together and all raced brilliantly!

“Just having the chance to compete in this thrilling motor sport is an achievement for the students. They should be extremely proud of themselves.”

The speedy trio earned their spot by crossing the finish line first in the South England Regional, which took place at Daytona Sandown Park earlier this month. They will compete against the best 34 school and college teams in the UK at Daytona Milton Keynes on April 1.
