Ferries cancelled in Newhaven as Met Office issues severe weather warning

FERRIES from Newhaven were cancelled this morning due to severe weather which lashed the South Coast.

The 10am from Newhaven and 5.30am from Dieppe were cancelled this morning (Tuesday January 3).

However Transmanche Ferries said the 9pm arrival into Newhaven and 11pm departure from Newhaven are scheduled to go ahead as normal.

The Met Office reported gusts could reach 70mph along the coast today.

A severe weather warning is in place today from the Met Office for very wet and very windy weather.

The public should be aware of the possibility of disruption due to strong winds.

Heavy rain may also lead to localised flooding.
