Festive fundraising for St Nicolas and St Mary's

CHILDREN have raised nearly £2,000 for their school with a little bit of help from Father Christmas.

Pupils at St Nicolas and St Mary's Primary School, Eastern Avenue, Shoreham, helped run the stalls at their annual Christmas bazaar on Saturday, December 6.

Head teacher, David Etherton, said the event, organised by the parent teacher association, was "fantastic".

"We had Father Christmas in his magical fairy light grotto and a chocolate tombola which was incredibly successful and rapidly ran out of gifts," he said.

"It was a fantastic turnout and a really festive atmosphere."

As well as the visit by Father Christmas, the school had organised a treasure trail, refreshments including hot dogs and chocolate marshmallows, craft stalls selling Christmas cards and games including guess the weight of the cake.

A total of 1,905 was raised towards a new art room for the school.
