“Seeing the amount of toys that everyone donated, knowing they’d put a smile on the faces of those who need it most really left me feeling humbled and proud.

“Once again, the power of local radio has shone through and shown that the only reason we exist is to bring together the people of West Sussex - we wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for our lovely listeners.”

This year’s appeal saw the largest amount ever collected by Spirit FM, and three Barnham schoolgirls helped raise nearly £1,500 to spend on toys through a sponsored walk from Barnham to Bognor.

Sally added: “Once again, we are overwhelmed by the continuous support of Spirit FM residents across the county – thanks to you, children all over West Sussex will have something to open on Christmas Day.”
