Fete accompli, with £4,500 raised for Lyminster Church

AN impressive £4,500 was raised in just a few hours at a village church’s summer fete.

St Mary Magdalene Church, Lyminster, held the traditional event in a paddock on the corner of Church Lane and Lyminster.

Many families came along to enjoy the games, tombola and raffle, and to buy plants, produce and bric-a-brac, with tea and cakes to refresh.

Among the visitors were West Sussex County Council vice-chairman Nigel Peters and his wife Mandy, and Lyminster Parish Council chairman Caroline Harriott.

Entertainment was provided by Arundel band, The Alternatives, and Robbie the Magician.

Organisers thank all those who supported the event, including Keith Langmead, for allowing parking on his field, and businesses and individuals contributing raffle prizes and produce.
