Fifty attend school reunion

MORE than 50 people met at the Rose and Crown in Fletching for the village school's annual reunion.

Former pupil Nellie Moore, 90, was unanimously elected 're-union queen'.

Also attending was Bernard 'Bristle' Barker who was voted best amateur goalkeeper in his time with Fletching Football Club.

Organiser Dudley Martin told the Express the group - from Sussex, the West Country, Kent, and London enjoyed lunch, visited the village hall where they enjoyed an exhibition of photographs of Fletching in the past, then went on the school.

They posed for a group photograph, toured classrooms, met children and listen to their music.

Mr Martin was a pupil between 1929 and 1938 when he joined the Army.

He said: 'This is was a wonderful day.

'We always have a collection and this year we raised 200 which we gave to the school.'
