Final calls for voters to register as election looms

WITH months of speculation about the General Election now over - it will be on Thursday, May 6 - Rother District Council is reminding residents that it is vital registrations to vote are received on time.

This week the council, in common with others across the UK, received the Queen's writ dissolving parliament prior to the nation going to the polls.

The deadline for registering to vote or to apply for a postal vote is next Tuesday, April 20 at 5pm.

The last day to apply for a new Proxy application (non emergency) is Tuesday, April 27 by 5pm.

Anyone with emergency proxy vote requests after this date should contact the council's electoral services office.

On May 6 polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm.
