Lucy Jenkins, known as Lucy Farnes, who grew up in Arunside, Horsham, was diagnosed with a brain tumour in August 2011, one month after her wedding.

Her husband Dave said they were told Lucy only had three to six months left to live in November last year.

Lucy and Dave now live with their children Leah, six, and Cameron, ten, in Hampshire, and Lucy requires 24/7 care from Dave.

Dave said: “We’ve had to act a bit sooner than we had hoped because she’s deteriorating every day at the moment.

“We wanted to give all her friends and family from home a chance to see her one more time.”

Since Lucy was diagnosed her family and friends have helped her complete a bucket list of activities she wanted to do during her life.

Dave said: “It was really odd some of the stuff on the list. She wanted to hold a snake, be arrested, and she wanted to break a bone so she could be put in a plaster cast.

“We found a nurse who could put her arm in a plaster cast and she loved it.”

The final wish on Lucy’s list is for Dave and her children to go on a two week holiday to Disneyland after she has passed. This will cost £10,000.

Dave said: “It’s really sad. She’s got a daughter who’s more independent than her.

“She has severe dementia from the tumour. Sometimes she doesn’t remember Leah or any of us. “

Lucy’s sister Katie Farnes, 28, from Arunside, Horsham, and cousin Gemma Humphrey, 32, of Highlands Road, Horsham, will hold a fun day at St Mary’s CofE Primary School, Horsham, on March 2 from 11am to 3pm.

There will tea and cakes, stalls, a raffle, a tombola, and four men, including Dave, will take part in a sponsored full body wax.

One Stop, in Station Road, Roffey, will hold fundraising events throughout February. Lucy used to work in One-Stop in Broadbridge Heath.
