The final stage of work to connect residents in Herstmonceux up to a new water main will take place during the school Summer holidays.Installation of the new 530-metre-long pipeline in Gardner Street took place earlier this year. James Smith, Delivery Manager for South East Water, said: “Our workforce will be back in the village on July 29 to complete this essential scheme. The new pipeline will mean an end to disruptive bursts and a more secure water supply to the village now and in the future. The work will take place away from the shopping area so customers can continue parking outside the shops.” To ensure motorists can continue using the road, construction will take place using temporary traffic lights . Work is anticipated to be complete by August 30.
