Finalists chosen for Arun Young Musician Gala Concert

The final of Arun Young Musician of the Year will be held on Sunday.

Following competition heats, the adjudicators have chosen the finalists to perform in the Gala Concert 2016 at the Alexandra Theatre, Bognor Regis, at 2.30pm.

Patron the Duchess of Norfolk will be present.

There is a wide range of music to celebrate, including pianists, string players, solo singers, choirs, woodwind and brass players.

A new composition for two pianos will be played by 2014 overall winner and composer Tim Rumsey and his colleague.

Tim will also give a short solo recital while the adjudicators make up their minds.

Marilyn Hurdwell said: “There is amazing talent in this area, with the young musicians being given a great opportunity to gain valuable experience whether simply taking part in the competition or publicly performing on stage.

“Littlehampton Rotary Club has generously supported these events over 35 years, with valuable prizes and trophies awarded to the most successful performers, culminating in the announcement of the Arun Young Musician of the Year 2016.

“Do come along and support these talented young people.”
