Fire and Rescue Service Called out Three Times

BEXHILL Fire and Rescue Service were called out three times during the early hours of Sunday morning to three separate incidents, which a Fire Service officer believes are more than likely related.

At 1.30am they received a call claiming there was a fire at the York Hotel.

This turned out to be a hoax or what the fire officer describes as a "malicious call".

Later, at 1.50am another call was received saying there was a fire in Sackville road.

On arrival at the scene the fire officers discovered a carpet had been dumped and set alight, and was duly extinguished.

Then at 4.50am they were called out again to a fire at Sackville Mews, behind Di Paolo's Restaurant in Sackville Road, and discovered a wheely bin had been set alight.

This incident is being treated as arson.

A Fire Service officer said: "There's a good chance that all these incidents were probably caused by the same person."

If anyone has any information relating to the above incidents call Crimestoppers free on 0800 555 11.
