East Sussex Fire & Rescue (ESFRS) was called to a fire at Choice Vehicle Hire on Faraday Close at 11.30pm.

Four fire engines attended from Eastbourne, Hailsham and Seaford to tackle the flames, the fire service has said.

ESFRS says no-one was injured and the fire is being treated as accidental - an electrical lead which had not been turned off had been stored in a coiled position.

In response to this, ESFRS has reminded businesses to follow fire safety measures:

• Ensure you have an up to date risk assessment which identifies risks and fire safety measures

• Make sure these measures are put in place and reviewed on a regular basis
