Fire at Haywards Heath home

Firefighters were called to Haywards Heath after part of a home caught fire.

Three crews attended the fire at a property in Portland Close at around 5.45pm yesterday evening (June 21).

A spokesman for the fire service said ‘external cladding’ at the back of the building caught fire.

It was extinguished using small gear and a high pressure hose reel, the spokesman added.

No-one was injured and no serious damage was reported.

The fire was treated as an accident and crews left the scene at 6.55pm.
