A spokesperson said: "Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus brought the fire under control using one high pressure hose reel and a jet.

"Crews confirmed that all residents were accounted for, and fortunately there were no injuries sustained."

The fire, which involved an oven and a grill pan, was started accidentally, the fire service confirmed.

The spokesperson added: "Crews remained at the scene and used a thermal imaging camera to ensure there were no further hotspots within the property before ventilating it to clear the smoke.

"The last appliance booked away from the scene at 8.21pm."
