Fire crews called to Seaford business in early hours

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service attended a fire in Seaford in the early hours of this morning (Thursday, April 28).

Four appliances from Seaford, Newhaven, Eastbourne and Lewes and three officers were mobilised to Steyne Road after reports of a fire in a commercial servicing garage at 2:09am.

On arrival, firefighters confirmed the fire was located on the second floor mezzanine level of the two-storey commercial building.

Six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using one foam jet.

A ‘stop’ message confirming the fire was out was received at 3:09am.

A fire investigation is scheduled to take place later this morning.
