Fire crews respond to blaze at Hassocks garage

Crews from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service have been called to a property in Mackie Avenue, Hassocks, this evening following reports of a domestic garage fire.

Residents have be advised to avoid the area where possible and people living locally have been advised to keep their windows and doors closed.

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said on social media: "We were called to an incident involving a fire in a domestic garage on Mackie Avenue, Hassocks at 5:30pm this evening.

"Three fire engines are currently on the scene. Please avoid the area if possible. If you live locally, please keep windows and doors closed."
