Firecrews rescue cow from Buxted ditch

A COW had to be rescued from a ditch in Buxted after it got stuck.

Firefighters from Crowborough and Uckfield attended the incident yesterday at 1.59pm on Monday, June 25 and remained at the scene until 5.28pm.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service’s specialist animal rescue unit was on hand to winch the cow to freedom and a vet was requested to attend.

The rescue proved to be difficult access for the crews as the cow was stuck in a muddy stream surrounded by banks.
