Firefighter injured in Powdermill Lane traffic accident

TWO people, including a serving firefighter, were injured following an accident in Catsfield on Tuesday morning (March 18).

Two vehicles collided at the junction of Powdermill Lane and the B2204 in Catsfield just before 9am.

The crash left one car on its roof.

The driver, 54-year-old woman, was given first aid and oxygen at the scene by fire crews from Battle.

The woman was taken by ambulance to the Conquest Hospital in Hastings as a precautionary measure.

The firefighter was driving an East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service car at the time of the accident.

The man, who is based at The Ridge Fire Station in Hastings, was also taken to the Conquest with minor injuries to his leg.

The road was closed for recovery work to take place.

Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses to call 101.
