Firefighters cycle safety event

Cyclists and motorists were given advice on how to stay safe on the region’s roads, thanks to Battle firefighters.

The team used fire appliances to educate road users about blind spots, invited people to try out the seatbelt sled and showed films about the consequences of car crashes.

Battle’s Technical Rescue Unit was also on hand at the event on the Abbey Green, providing visitors the chance to see the essential life-saving equipment used by the service, including cutting tools and breathing apparatus.
