Firefighters free girl from cabinet

FIREFIGHTERS went to the aid of a child who had got stuck in a filing cabinet on Sunday (March 16).

The crew from Battle were called to a property in Picardy Close in the town at 3pm after a seven-year-old girl managed to get her arm trapped.

It is believed the girl removed the bottom drawer and put her arm inside and reached up to retrieve something when she became stuck.

Crew commander Marc Wise said: “It was a case of manoeuvring her arm, bending the filing cabinet and getting her arm out.

“She was not hurt, there were no bruises or cuts.”
