Firefighters rescue three people from vehicle trapped in water

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of people trapped in a vehicle in flowing water yesterday (Monday, March 28).

Appliances from Uckfield, Crowborough and Lewes, including the specialist Technical Rescue Unit from Lewes, attended the incident on Sharpsbridge Road, Piltdown.

On arrival, crews confirmed that three people were trapped in one vehicle. Two firefighters wearing dry suits were committed to extricate the vehicle.

All three occupants were successfully rescued from the vehicle and no injuries were reported.
