Firefighters tackle fire at industrial yard in Wartling

Five engines were called to the Greenman Yard in Boreham Street shortly after 9pm last night (February 17).

Crews from Herstmonceux, Hailsham, Pevensey, Bexhill and Battle were all in attendance, with support from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.

A tweet from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service last night warned the public to stay away from the area.

Firefighters used jet hoses and hydrants to extinguish the fire, the fire service said, and a fire investigation is due to take place today (February 18).
