Firefighters work through the night after blaze breaks out in Bosham

A fire broke out at an industrial unit in Bosham in the early hours of this morning (Monday, January 11).

Firefighters 'worked through the night' to extinguish the blaze near Delling Lane, according to West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.

Crews remained at the scene, as of 8.30am.

A spokesperson said: "Joint Fire Control was alerted to reports of a fire involving an industrial unit near Delling Lane in Bosham at 1.47am this morning.

“Firefighters from Bognor Regis and Chichester were mobilised to the scene along with Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service crews from Emsworth and Havant. The water carrier from Petworth and the Incident Command Unit from Haywards Heath were also sent to the scene.

“Firefighters worked through the night to extinguish the fire. We currently have two fire engines on scene, with crews continuing to turn over and damp down.

“We would urge drivers to avoid the area for the time being.”
