Firework sparked fire in garden

Firefighters were called to tackle a blaze in a garden in Hurst Green which was started by a rogue firework.

Crews from Battle and Burwash Fire Stations were called to an address in London Road shortly after 7pm on Sunday night (November 6) following reports that a firework had set alight to bushes, a shed and fences.

A spokesperson from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was in danger of spreading to a nearby house and cars.

The blaze was soon put out.

ESFRS said the blaze was started accidentally.
