Fireworks and Bonfire Cup to be held at the Dripping Pan in Lewes

It will be a busy weekend at The Dripping Pan in Lewes which will host a free fireworks display and the fifth annual Bonfire Cup.

The fireworks display will take place on Saturday May 9 at around 9.30pm and marks the 70th anniversary of VE Day.

Admission is free and the event has been organised by Sussex Express County Yarns columnist David Arnold in conjunction with Lewes FC Supporters Club.

The fireworks display is arranged by members of the pyrotechnic team of Southover Bonfire Society. The Rook Inn will be open for refreshments from 7pm.

And on Sunday May 10 the fifth annual Bonfire Cup football tournament takes place at the Dripping Pan in Mountfield Road.

All of the town’s bonfire societies have teams competing. It starts at 11am. Locally-sourced food available all day and the ground’s Rook Inn features a mini beer festival with live music until 10.30pm in the evening. Admission free.
