Firm chosen for new theatre in Bognor

The procedure to choose the operator began in October 2007 '“ 21 companies were interested.

Eight firm expressions of interest were received. Of these, seven were selected.

Four of them led to detailed proposals. A five-strong selection panel decided to go forward with three of the schemes.

One dropped out to leave Openwide and the current theatre's operator, Arun Arts, competing head-on for the future contract.

Openwide was deemed the better-quality company with higher-quality proposals, and its ideas were judged to be more commercial and sustainable.

The final decision was made unanimously by the panel.
