First anniversary for village shop

HURST Green Community Shop and Cafe has been in business for a year and to celebrate, the shop will be holding a First Anniversary Day tomorrow (Saturday).

Don Nicholls, shop board member, says the event will be a big ‘thank you’ to the shop’s loyal customers and volunteers.

He said: “We hope to welcome and thank as many of our customers, and our volunteers, for their support as we can.

“The shop will remain open for an extra two hours beyond its normal Saturday closure at 1pm - from 9am to 3pm - and there will be a coconut shy, stocks, free tastings, a plant stall, table tennis and music, plus more, throughout the afternoon.

“Come and visit the Community Shop/Cafe in Station Road, Hurst Green - in the old deconsecrated round Catholic Church, just 100 yards west of the A21.”
