Here is the first artist’s impression of the building set to replace Seaford’s last seafront pub.
Developer McCarthy and Stone revealed this picture of Eversley Court, its new assisted living development.
Residents campaigned to prevent McCarthy and Stone from acquiring planning permission for the site including the former Beachcomber pub in Dane Road.
They were concerned losing the pub would be the final nail in the coffin for the seafront.
An online petition was set up in a bid to overturn the decision to demolish the pub, as well as several other buildings in Dane Road but the application was approved by a planning inspector on appeal.
McCarthy and Stone is now inviting retirees to register their interest for an apartment, due to be completed in December.
Construction is underway and when finished it will offer 64 one and two bedroom assisted living apartments exclusively for the over 70s.
Julie Ward, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy and Stone, said: “Everything we do is built around a belief that later life can be rich, rewarding and fulfilling.
“Our new development in Seaford is designed to do just that and we hope releasing this image will help start bringing it to life for people living locally.”
Facilities at Eversley Court will include a shared lounge, guest suite, laundry room and a restaurant, offering hot meals 365 days a year.
A dedicated estate manager ensures the smooth running of the development and a security entrance system plus 24-hour emergency call points provide peace of mind for both residents and their families.
Apartments are expected to be released for sale in June. Contact McCarthy & Stone on 0800 201 4743 or visit www.mccarthyandstone.co.uk
