Collette, 26, from Steyning, said: “The inspector stood in my kitchen and said to me he was going to give us five stars.

“I was really surprised and said to him I could kiss him.

“We have been deep cleaning everything for the last two days and we felt really nervous. We weren’t expecting the top rating at all so it was a real shock.

“It was the last hurdle so it was great to get such a good rating in our first ever inspection. It was like the cherry on top of the cake.”

Katie, also 26, from Storrington, said that it has given them the incentive to think about the future and start making plans to open up a shop in West Sussex.

She added: “It felt amazing to receive five stars as we have worked so hard to get this far and I wasn’t sure what to expect. I just hoped for the best.”

Collette and Katie have been friends since they were three years old and both went to Steyning Grammar School.

The duo are making plans to open up a small shop in Cobblestone Walk, Steyning, within the next couple of months.

Their aim is to have at least two shops in Sussex within ten years where one will also be set up like a patisserie.
