Little Maggie and her dad Richard Barker, from Woodgate, completed the 5k in Hotham Park dressed as Peter Pan and Tinkerbell.

Mum Sally-Ann Barker said: “She did incredibly well, we are so proud of her.

“They completed the 5k in 42 minutes 50 seconds. So far, she’s raised £325 for Comic Relief. She wants to raise enough to buy medicine for all the sick babies in Africa.

“Richard is doing the London Marathon in April for Cancer Research, she certainly gets her charitable spirit from him.”

Maggie has been a keen fundraiser since watching an advert for Sport Relief last year. She pushed herself to learn to swim without armbands and at just four years old, she swam a 17m length and raised almost £400 for the charity.

More recently, she had her beautiful long hair cut off and donated it to Little Princess Trust.

She has just started running and on one of our weekly jogs, she decided she wanted to do a charity run and chose Red Nose Day this time.

Sally-Ann added: “She’s a little hero and it’s a very worthy cause. It’s really heartwarming that a child so young has such a keen understanding of charity and a desire to help people.”
