Flansham camp plan is dropped

Plans to open a camping site in Flansham have been scrapped.

Paul Bennett withdrew his proposals for Hoe Lane because of the amount of protests his scheme attracted.

His planning agent, Keith McNally, told Arun District Council: "I am instructed to say that, having been apprised of the number of letters of representation received from residents of Hoe Lane objecting to the proposal on the grounds of a perceived unacceptable increase in the level of traffic using that road should the application be granted, my client withdraws this application."
