Fletching clay pigeon shooting club is best in country

A FLETCHING CLAY shooting club has won an award for best ground and best clay shoot club in the UK.

Dan Kerwood who runs the Northall Farm clay pigeon shooting club outside the village with his wife Jan, was delighted when the club’s entry into a national competition came out tops. He told the Express: “The competition was run by governing body, the Clay Pigeon Shooting Association, and we beat all the big clubs like West London and Bisley. We are absolutely delighted.”

Dan and Jan are the parents of Beijing Olympian and Commonwealth Games gold medallist Charlotte who is on the shortlist to compete in the London 2012 Olympics.

The 150 member Northall Club was founded in 1986 as a small Sunday shoot and Dan and Jan took it over 18 years ago. Since then they’ve expanded facilities from a caravan to a smart club house.
