FLOOD MEETING

It is now over six years since the 2000 floods in Lewes.

Over that time Lewes Flood Action has been influential in keeping Lewes on the agenda of the Government and the Environment Agency regarding flood defences.

So far Malling has received better protection and there is a promise to improve flood defence from Phoenix Bridge down to the end of South Street.

Said one organiser John Clark: 'We would like to offer Lewes people who are interested in flood defence issues the opportunity to hear about what we have been doing, express their concerns and say what Lewes should be doing now.'
