The strategy was drawn up following the devastating floods in October, 2000, caused by torrential rain with five and a half inches falling in just 24 hours.

Presenting it will be Sussex Area Manager for the Environment Agency, Peter Midgley, and area flood defence manager Rupert Clubb. A question and answer session will follow.

A summary setting out the preferred options for Uckfield and Lewes will be handed out to people attending the meeting but is also available at Uckfield Library or by contacting Fiona Green on 01903 703905.
