A flag was raised today (Monday June 24) at County Hall in Lewes to support a national event highlighting the contribution of those who serve in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces.
Armed Forces Day is being held on Saturday June 29 and East Sussex County Council is flying the Armed Forces Flag at County Hall in the week leading up to the event.
The flag was raised by county council Chairman Colin Belsey and Assistant Chief Executive Simon Hughes.
Cllr Belsey said: “Armed Forces Day is the perfect opportunity to raise awareness of the contribution made by those who serve and have served in the Armed Forces, and publicly acknowledge them for their efforts.
“East Sussex County Council is again showing its support for Armed Forces Day and giving special thanks to the troops, service families, veterans and cadets from East Sussex.”
