FOOD AND DRINK AWARDS

The finalists include Harveys of Lewes and Plumpton College, nominated for Best Sussex Drink Producers, and Lewes Farmers Market for Best Sussex Farmers Market.

They join 15 other local food and drink producers, restaurants, butchers, food shops and farmers markets from across the whole of Sussex in the quest to become winners.

Hundreds of local businesses were nominated by the public since the awards scheme was launched in June, with more than 2,400 votes submitted.

Chairman of the judges Clive Beddall said: 'I am delighted by the huge number of votes and believe that it shows what enthusiasm there is for local produce in Sussex. The quality of finalists is fantastic and the voting procedure has spotlighted what a wealth of exciting food and drink is available across the county.'

Winners will be announced at a special dinner on January 25.
