Footage shows smoke billowing from Hassocks blaze which shut road

Fire police and ambulance services all responded to the fire, at a derelict barn in London Road.

The incident is beginning to be scaled down and all people are accounted for, the fire service confirmed.

But the road remains closed due to the blaze at London Road to the Stonepound Crossroads, Mid Sussex Police said.

The blaze was almost extinguished as of 2.45pm, police confirmed. A spokesman added the fire service will examine for a cause when safe, and the road will remain closed in the meantime.
