Ford worker seriously injured after plummeting from a roof

A MAN has been flown to hospital with ‘serious injuries’ after plunging 30ft through a skylight at an industrial unit in Ford this morning (Thursday, January 22).

The Sussex Air Ambulance was called to the Rudford Industrial Estate, in Ford Road, at about 11.30am this morning to help the stricken worker.

He fell while working on the roof of the Styropack Ltd’s building, suffering extensive injuries, police sources said.

It is understood the man, who police say was in his 40s, suffered a suspected fractured pelvis and broke his left arm.

He was flown to the trauma unit of the Royal Sussex County Hospital, in Brighton, for treatment.

His current condition is unknown at this time.

Styropack Ltd did not wish to comment on the incident.

However, police confirmed that the Health and Safety Executive had been informed.
