Ford’s sights set on hitting a great total

FORD’S Rifle Range has its scope sighted on hitting a great target for a good cause.

The range, in Yapton Road, is hosting a weekend of fun to support lifeboat charity the RNLI, next month.

Among the varied attractions on offer will be a tank and military vehicle display, clay pigeon shooting, pistol target shooting, and a Volkswagen stand.

For those wishing to get an adrenaline pump, the rifle range will also be holding taster sessions of both paintballing and airsoft – a sport which sees competitors firing 6mm plastic BBs at one another.

Visitors will be able to shoot the replica firearms at targets inside the range’s own ‘kill house’, or they can go against each other, in friendly team-based games.

The event takes place on Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8, from 10am until 5pm on both days.

This is the fourth year the rifle range has hosted a charity fundraiser, and the first time for the RNLI.

Previous years saw events supporting the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.
