Forklift truck catches fire near Billingshurst

Fire engines were sent to Coolham Road shortly after 1pm.

Crews were faced with thick black smoke, following the forklift and diesel tank fire, according to Billingshurst station.

A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service added: "Fire engines from Horsham and Billingshurst were mobilised to the scene and upon arrival firefighters wearing breathing apparatus quickly brought the fire under control using two high pressure hose reels.

“Once the fire was extinguished, crews remained at the scene and used a thermal imaging camera to ensure there were no further hotspots, before booking away at 2.10pm.”
