Formal consultation begins on Rye neighbourhood plan

The first stage of formal consultations are to begin on Rye's local-awaited neighbourhood plan.

On Monday (February 19), Rye Town Council agreed to send a draft of the neighbourhood plan out for a ‘Regulation 14 ‘ consultation – the first stage of several formal consultations necessary for the plan to be formally adopted.As part of the consultation anyone who lives, works or studies in Rye can comment on the draft plan and its supporting papers, which will be used to influence Rye’s planning policy until 2023.This consultation will run from Friday, February 23 until 5pm on Friday, April 6. To view the draft neighbourhood plan and its supporting documents go online to www.ryeneighbourhoodplan.org.uk.Paper copies of the response form are also available at Rye Library, Rye Town Council Office or the Tilling Green Centre.Paper response forms can be photographed and emailed, sent by hand or post to Rye Neighbourhood Plan c/o Rye Town Council, Town Hall, Market Street, TN31 7LA.Work on the plan first began in 2013, with the document going through more than 10 iterations before being sent out for ‘Regulation 14’ consultation. While this consultation is the first formal stage the working versions of the plan have been available online throughout the process.
