FORMER Brighton and Hove Albion FC player Kerry Mayo will be opening the Peacehaven and Telscombe Fair on Saturday July 21.
The annual event will take place at the Sports Park in Piddinghoe Avenue from 12 noon to 5pm.
New attractions will be performances from Skull Drummery, who are part of Cliffe Bonfire Society, and there will be morris dancing.
Visitors can look forward to arena events from Hastings Twirlers, Meridian Athletic FC and a Chinese Lion Dance, as well as martial arts, a cadet gun display and a tug of war.
All the features of a summer fair will be part of the day, including dog agility, birds of prey and a bouncy castle.
Plate smashing, a magician and circus skills, a fire engine and lamb weighing will be amongst the attractions too.
Residents will be able to browse dozens of stalls, offering information about local groups, plus if they are feeling peckish there will be burgers, Afro-Caribbean food and ice cream.
There will also be a bar and food at Peacehaven and Telscombe FC Clubhouse.
The fair is jointly organised by Peacehaven and Telscombe town councils and is now in its third year.
In a statement from both town mayors, they said: “This is a great event with loads of traditional attractions for all the family which brings the community together.”
Entry to the event is free, as is the parking. You can even book a free journey to and from the fair, with Community Transport by calling 01273 517332.
