Former Lewes man killed by train

A MAN killed by a train near Wivelsfield Station, Burgess Hill, has been identified as Barry Heath, 22, a former Lewes resident.

The tragedy happened at 3.30pm on Wednesday last week.

Mr Heath, a van driver, was living at the time in Perrymount Road, Haywards Heath.

He was hit by a Thameslink train heading from Brighton to Bedford.

The main line was closed for 90 minutes while the track was cleared.

A post mortem has been carried out and an inquest will be held. There are no suspicious circumstances.
