Former mayor retires from council after a decade
FORMER mayor Ron Harris has retired from Battle Town Council after 10 years.
Ron, who was elected to represent Marley Ward in May 2003, was a member of the council’s estates, communications and finance and general purposes committees and represented the council on the Battle In Bloom Group and at Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour meetings.
He also served as town mayor twice. Battle Town Council vice chairman Sylvie Pry thanked Ron for all he had done for the council, adding: “He will be sorely missed.”
