Who would live in a house like this?
The former Natwest Bank in Newhaven High Street is up for sale on Rightmove for £425,000.
Paul Bott and Co in Brighton is marketing the Grade II Listed property,
It is described as being built in a Baroque style and dates from the 20th century.
There are five storeys, including a basement, the ground floor, previously used as the bank, and three upper floors which had been separate flats at various times.
Planning permission was granted to convert the building into a single dwelling over all floors, including the creation of a large roof terrace and skylight at first floor level to the rear.
The building has a total floor space of 330 square meters.
The property has undergone some recent renovation including fresh plasterwork and paint, plus a new boiler and kitchen has been installed.
The Paul Bott and Co website said: “A great challenge for any property developer to make a beautiful and striking home or to convert into apartments.”
Newhaven councillor Rod Main has previously commented: “It will make an impressive residential property but I wonder who will be able or want to afford such a Chateau-esque house in Newhaven.”
